The core of the occupant safety system of the Alfa GT is the torsional rigidity of the bodyshell, which also guarantees exceptional stability and road-holding. Within its progressively deforming bodyshell, the Alfa GT features an array of equipment designed to improve safety : the FPS (Fire Prevention System) with fuel feed valve and inertia switch that cuts off the flow of fuel in the case of impact, seat belts with inertia reels and load limiters at the front and rear, a fully collapsible, adjustable steering column, anti-intrusion bars in the doors and energy-absorbing internal trim that already complies with stringent USA standards regarding flammability. Lastly, six standard airbags including two window bags that inflate very rapidly and open from the top down in order to protect the heads of the front passengers.

The Alfa GT has stability and control built into its DNA. Double circuit hydraulic brakes complete with latest generation ABS and EBD (Electronic Braking Force Distributor). A VDC system (Vehicle Dynamic Control) that restores vehicle trajectory in the case of loss of stability. ASR, which prevents wheelspin and the MSR system that prevents the wheels from locking when changing down hurriedly. New optional Xenon headlights that deliver twice the lighting power of halogen bulbs. Total control through the use of systems inherited from Formula 1 such as the high double wishbone front suspension that keeps the wheels perpendicular to the road and the MacPherson strut rear suspension set-up which is tuned to compliment the front. The result is a suspension system that gives remarkable agility and stability even at high speed.
