Matched to each of the Alfa 147's high-tech engines are equally sophisticated and refined transmission systems. The conventional five-speed manual gearbox features a syringe-like control to prevent the accidental engagement of reverse, whilst a six-speed version is standard with the 1.9 JTDM 16V engine to optimise its prodigious power and torque.
